“Jerome the Snowman”
One of my favorite childhood memories is of my nana, Jean Daniels (February 12, 1943-), visiting me in Boston when I was little. She would come up during holidays and summers. Nana fed me my first real food, which was cornbread and collard greens. This is why I think soul food is my favorite food to this day. Nana would always play with me in the snow during the winter. She was just as excited as me to play in the snow because it didn’t snow much in the South. I remember her helping me build my first snowman and we named him Jerome. We had so much fun building that snowman, and then afterwards we drank hot chocolate and watched Christmas movies. My nana’s visits were my favorite thing because I didn’t get to see her much, but when I did she was always so fun and entertaining.
